Ozzy Osbourne is an English musician and media personality who was the lead singer of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath from 1968 to 1978. He was born on December 3, 1948 in Birmingham, England and is also known as John Michael Osbourne. Osbourne is known for his dramatic flair and ability to create controversy, and has sold more than 100 million records worldwide. He has also had a successful solo career, releasing albums such as Black Rain (2007), Scream (2010), Ordinary Man (2020), and Patient Number 9 (2022). Patient Number 9 won a Grammy for best rock album, and its single “Degradation Rules” was named best metal performance.
Black Sabbath is an English rock band that was formed in Birmingham in 1968 by Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward. The band is often considered a pioneer of heavy metal music, and their first three albums helped define the genre with their dark, doom sound. Some of their songs include “Paranoid”, “War Pigs”, and “Iron Man”. In March 2006, Osbourne and the other members of Black Sabbath were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
