Conway Twitty (1933 – 1993) was an American singer, songwriter, and country music star. Born Harold Lloyd Jenkins in Friars Point, Mississippi.

He won a string of Country Music Association awards for duets with Loretta Lynn from 1971 to 1976 and was nicknamed “The High Priest of Country Music” by comedian Jerry Clower.
