Swift was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania on December 13, 1989. She began taking acting and vocal lessons in New York City at age 9, and later moved to Nashville to work with songwriter Liz Rose. Swift is the youngest artist to be signed by Sony/ATV publishing house, but left the group at age 14.

Swift has six albums that have opened with over one million sales in a week, and has been featured on lists such as Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time, Billboard’s Greatest of All Time Artists, and Forbes’ World’s 100 Most Powerful Women.
