Carter Family

The original group broke up in 1943, but the name was adapted by Mother Maybelle and her three daughters, including June Carter Cash. Other members of the group have included A. P. Carter, Sara Carter, Janette Carter, and Joe Carter. The group has released more than 60 albums, including Country’s First Family, Carter Family Sings the Country Album, and Three Generations. 

The Carter Family’s classic repertoire, haunting vocal harmonies, and Maybelle’s guitar style have kept their music relevant today.
