Jelly Roll Morton

Morton was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. His work includes more than 60 albums, including *Mr. Jelly Lord (Mono Version)* (1923-1926) and Morton, Jelly-Roll: Mr. Jelly Lord (1924-1930). In 2005, the Lomax interviews, released on an eight-CD boxed set, The Complete Library of Congress Recordings, won two Grammy Awards. 

Morton was born in New Orleans on October 20, 1890. He died in Los Angeles on July 10, 1941, after an eleven-day stay in Los Angeles County General Hospital.
